Although New York City is the home of more than seven million people is it easy to feel isolated. If you follow the same schedule day in and day out, you can begin to feel yourself becoming more withdrawn. Even though there are plenty of things to do at night, your energy levels can be too low to want to actually get out and enjoy your life. While you may think that you have just fallen into a rut your diet may be playing a larger role than you think. Eating fast food everyday will literally drain your energy. You might walk to work everyday, but what you put into your body will directly effect your mood. If everything else has failed you might want to start growing your own food and see if it makes a difference. Instead of purchasing soil, buy hydroponic supplies to create a lush indoor garden. Not only will you enjoy watching your plants grow from seedlings into mature plants, your living space will begin to feel more alive.

While there may be enough daylight in your apartment to appease you, some plants will need much more in order to produce fruits and vegetables. If you purchase a grow light and install it directly above your plants the end result will be a much more hearty harvest. Think of all of the new and exciting things that you will be able to do when you actually begin to feel more happy and well adjusted. If you have always been an outgoing person you shouldn’t let a poor diet effect your social life. You might feel more happy at your job, which could lead to a raise or even a promotion. By changing the way that you eat you will be able to see your life in a whole new light.

Trying to maintain a child’s room can be a complete nightmare at the best of times. Clothes pulled out of dressers, hundreds of toys everywhere…it’s a mess. But you can find some creative ways to organize that may make it a little easier, and a little more attractive.

For school papers, party invites, or your kid’s drawings, try creating a little folder-holder for the bedroom door. Take four or five folders, and paste them on a strip of paper or plastic. You can decorate these,a nd label them as you wish. All you need a a tack or hook to hang it up.

For toys, separate them by size. Anything small, put in ziplock bags, and keep together. For medium sized toys, put them on shelves, or in a toy chest. Large stuffed animals can go in a ceiling net, or in strategic places around the room, to look neater.

To create the illusion of space, add in a mirror. Hanging a mirror on the wall makes the room look more open, and also adds a bit of decoration where it could be badly needed. Try to keep pictures to a minimum, as too many will crowd the space.
